Hey hey Reader! If you've been in my world for a while, you know each year at this time I share my marketing predictions for the new year. After 23+ years as a marketer, I've become pretty skilled at my predictions, and it's always fun to look back at this yearly email and see what I nailed (and where I was a bit off!) Here's what I predict for 2026: 1️⃣ AI won't be the advantage anymore. YOU are the advantage. Everyone will be using AI to write content, create graphics, build funnels, and run ads. That means AI alone won't make you stand out. What will matter is your thinking and how you lead. Your perspective, unique experiences, education and expertise. The things only you can provide that can not be copied by AI. 2️⃣ Clarity will be everything Your audience is overwhelmed and the marketplace is becoming noisier by the minute. General offers, fuzzy positioning, and 'I help everyone' marketing will stop converting. Specificity will cut through the noise and if you have resisted niching down in the past now is the time to get crystal clear on who you serve and how you help them. If someone feels like you know them inside and out and can solve their problem you will stand out among your competition. 3️⃣ Your authority will matter more than ever AI is letting a lot of people enter the marketplace as 'experts' (even when they're not) Your street cred is going to be important
You basically need to be able to show why someone should hire you, and have the proof to back it up. If you're brand new, don't worry. You can show authority by using your own transformation and building a framework around it. Testimonials will come. But if you have a framework, you're already 80% ahead of most people in the online space! 4️⃣ Transparency & trust will outweigh flashy marketing People are tired of exaggerated promises and polished marketing that doesn't match reality. In 2026, people will not be looking for the prettiest most polished brand. They will be looking to work with the people they know can help solve their problems. Marketing is going back to basics and who you help, how you help them, and your framework for delivering results are the foundation. Nail this and your marketing will land every time. 5️⃣ Long-form content will be critical I've been predicting this for the past two years as I had started seeing the shift happening a few years ago. This year it went from a "nice to have" to "must have" People aren't just relying on Googling anymore. They're turning to AI for their information. AI pulls its information from long form content (website articles, blogs & podcasts, and Youtube). It's not referencing peoples latest Instagram Reel. Podcasts, blogs, YouTube long-form content won't be optional if you want to be discoverable. It's how your ideas get indexed, referenced, and found. If you are putting all your effort into short form content you are going to be leaving a lot of opportunity for leads and sales on the table. 6️⃣ Personal connection becomes the differentiator As automation increases, human presence becomes more desirable. People will choose mentors and educators they feel connected to. Your values, what you stand for and against, and your quirky personality are what will connect you to your ideal clients. People want transparency in who they are spending their money with and polished standoffish marketing will no longer cut it. 7️⃣ Ads will replace organic marketing Organic reach will continue to shrink. It's an unfortunate reality that social media platforms and their ever changing algorithms are becoming a pay to play game for entrepreneurs (unless you have hours to dedicate to creating content or a team to manage it for you). Ads allow you to reach your ideal client and save you time by allowing you to grow your email list and sell your offers in the background while you stay focused on your clients. Traffic (aka new eyes on your offers) is essential for you to have a successful business. Ads give you the advantage to make this happen. Inside secret: I'm launching an ads program that will show you my exact methods for running list building and audience growth ads for less than $5/day because I believe every entrepreneur should be running ads in 2026! So that's it! My predictions for 2026. Clarity, clear offers, transparency and marketing that works even when you don't is the vibe this year! Your plan of action 👇 Use AI as leverage → get clear on who you serve → build your framework → prove your expertise → create real connection → invest in long-form content → get strategic with ads → build for sustainability. That's the playbook for 2026.
P.S. I'd love to hear what you think. What do you predict will matter most in 2026? Hit reply and tell me. |
Imagine you are walking down the street minding your own business and suddenly there is a camera crew and a guy with a microphone in your face telling you that you have an opportunity to become a millionaire but you have a choice to make. Option one is a million dollars cash right now, in your hand. Option two is a single penny that doubles in value every day for thirty one days. Most people take the million without hesitating, and honestly that's the logical choice on the surface because a...
I was stuck in a very long checkout line at Walmart recently. The woman in line ahead of me struck up a conversation which somehow navigated to her business. She had recently started it and she was getting some clients here and there. Unfortunately, the sales weren't consistent enough to feel stable and she was starting to wonder if she needed to go get a job to help cover her bills while she figured it out. I asked her what felt like the most obvious question in the world to me...who is your...
Reader, I want to tell you something that changed everything about how I run my business. A few years ago I found myself in what people call the sandwich generation, which sounds like a cute little life phase until you're actually living it. I was caring for small children and aging parents at the same time, while also trying to run a business that demanded I show up on Zoom calls, post on social media daily, live launch programs on a schedule, and generally be available to everyone at all...
