Reader I took the last week of 2025 off, and then spent the first week of January 2026 in Punta Cana with my family. Two weeks off total where I didn't check email, didn't post on social media, didn't hop on sales calls or create content or even think about my business (okay, maybe a little bit, but only because I love what I do, not because I had to 😁). And my business kept running! Leads and sales came in from my evergreen funnel. My email list kept getting nurtured with sequences I'd already built. My clients had everything they needed because I'd designed the experience ahead of time. Nothing broke and nobody was sending frantic messages wondering where I was. This is what a business can look like when you build it around the life you want to live. You can enjoy well deserved time off and not have to worry that everything will fall apart or you will "pay for it later" when you are scrambling to bring in clients next month. I'm sharing it because most people think freedom comes after success. Like, "Once I hit six figures, then I'll have time off. Then I'll have systems. Then I'll have time to take a vacation." But here's the truth...that's backwards. Freedom needs to be built into your business from the beginning. It's not something you earn after you hit a certain revenue milestone. It's something you build intentionally from day one (or from today, if you're just realizing this now, lol). So if you're thinking, "I want that. I want a business that doesn't require me to be everything all the time," that's exactly why I created The Business Startup Secret Podcast. It's a free private podcast that walks you through how to simplify your business, build the right foundation, and create a strategy that actually works...so you can have a business that works even when you don't! And don't be fooled by the title. Even if you have been working with clients for a while the info in this podcast can help you. You can grab it here (FREE - no opt in required) This is the exact process I use with my clients to help them go from overwhelmed and guessing to clear and consistent. And it's the same process I used when I was building my own business. Go grab it. Listen to it this week. And start building a business around the life you want to live!

Imagine you are walking down the street minding your own business and suddenly there is a camera crew and a guy with a microphone in your face telling you that you have an opportunity to become a millionaire but you have a choice to make. Option one is a million dollars cash right now, in your hand. Option two is a single penny that doubles in value every day for thirty one days. Most people take the million without hesitating, and honestly that's the logical choice on the surface because a...
I was stuck in a very long checkout line at Walmart recently. The woman in line ahead of me struck up a conversation which somehow navigated to her business. She had recently started it and she was getting some clients here and there. Unfortunately, the sales weren't consistent enough to feel stable and she was starting to wonder if she needed to go get a job to help cover her bills while she figured it out. I asked her what felt like the most obvious question in the world to me...who is your...
Reader, I want to tell you something that changed everything about how I run my business. A few years ago I found myself in what people call the sandwich generation, which sounds like a cute little life phase until you're actually living it. I was caring for small children and aging parents at the same time, while also trying to run a business that demanded I show up on Zoom calls, post on social media daily, live launch programs on a schedule, and generally be available to everyone at all...
